Trusted Trader Scheme

Trusted Trader DGC logo

Dumfries & Galloway Council operates a Trusted Trader scheme which is a local business partnership aimed at increasing consumer confidence, promoting good practice within local businesses and helping to protect local people from doorstep crime.

How it works

Dumfries and Galloway Trusted Trader Scheme publishes a directory of local businesses that have allowed previous customers to comment and rate their work. Anyone on the scheme will have also been checked by Trading Standards to make sure they are trading legally. Trusted Trader members should adhere to our terms and conditions and their business practices are subject to monitoring by Trading Standards.

The scheme is aimed at the home improvement sector. Traders can join the scheme for free, but to be accepted as a trusted trader, participants need to:

  • have been trading for 6 months
  • have public liability insurance
  • have evidence of any experience or qualifications claimed in relation to the services
  • have had no significant customer complaints
  • be willing to issue customer feedback cards (returned by customers to the Council).
Annandale Cycles is proud to be a member of the Trusted Trader scheme.
